1. Who we are and what these terms cover

These terms apply to runemic.com, the Runemic Console (console.runemic.com) and the Runemic API (api.runemic.com), together "the services", provided by Runemic Labs, [Full name of the owner or company], [Street and number], [Postcode and city], Germany (hello@runemic.com). By signing in or using the API you agree to them.

2. Preview

The console and API are a free preview. Models, features, limits and prices may change, and the preview may be paused or ended. Free credit has no cash value, cannot be transferred and may expire when the preview ends. We will announce paid plans before charging anything, and nothing will be charged without your agreement.

3. Your account

You sign in with GitHub or Hugging Face and are responsible for what happens under your account and API keys. Keep your keys secret; if one leaks, revoke it in the console. One person, one account: don't create extra accounts to get more free credit or higher limits.

4. Fair use

You may not:

• get around limits, blocks or security measures, or share keys to do so;
• overload, attack, probe or disrupt the services or other users;
• send content you have no right to process, or content that is illegal;
• use the services or their output to build a competing OCR service or to train competing models;
• resell or re-offer the services without our written permission.

We may limit, suspend or block accounts that break these terms or put the service at risk for others. You can always contact us, download your data or ask us to delete it.

5. Your content

Documents you send and the text you get back are yours. We process them only to give you the result; we do not store your documents and do not use them for training (see the privacy notice). Please check results before relying on them: OCR can make mistakes.

6. Our content and intellectual property

The website, the console, our software and code, the Rune-1 models, RuneBench, the illustrations, texts and design, and the names and logos Runemic and Rune-1 belong to Runemic Labs and are protected by copyright and other laws. All rights are reserved. Unless we say otherwise in writing, or a part is published under an open-source licence, you may not copy, reproduce, republish, reverse engineer, decompile or imitate them, or use our names and logos in a way that suggests a connection with us. Open-source releases, such as models, datasets or code we publish on GitHub or Hugging Face, are governed by their own licences.

7. Availability and liability

We work to keep the services running, but during the preview we cannot promise that they are always available or error-free. We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, and where mandatory law (such as the German Product Liability Act) requires. For slight negligence we are liable only for breach of an essential contractual obligation, limited to the typical, foreseeable damage. Otherwise, our liability is excluded. Because the preview is free of charge, the statutory rules for gifts may also apply.

8. Ending use

You can stop using the services and delete your account at any time under Settings in the console. We may end the preview or close accounts with reasonable notice, or immediately for serious breaches of these terms.

9. Changes and law

We may update these terms; for important changes we will tell signed-in users in advance. German law applies, without the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live. Questions: hello@runemic.com.
